I was upset with the pain of the nightmare, but more upset when the characterized the woman as "worthless." I think it was her own past pain in life that cast that name upon her. She couldn't see beyond the nightmare past for the rose of her present life. Torture, when it is self-torture is worst, beacause ther is no stopping it, no cure. Well written poem.
