Response to all who have read/commented. I have never been a smoker, so can't comment on how it works for that. I also have totally readjusted my attitude/knowledge on how and what to eat so not "relying" on this forever. This is also not some fad weightloss drug like Phen-Phen. It works for me and I'm not going to justify myself. I just keep seeing these people posting that are absolutely miserable and weighing over 200 pounds and finding it difficult to stick with this WOE. First and foremost problem most people should be working with a physician on ANY weight loss program at least in the beginning. Having someone monitoring your BP, cholesterol, etc. and to offer the medical knowledge and support that what you are doing is healthful, not harmful. It is up to YOU and YOUR DOCTOR to decide if taking some type of medication is appropriate. And let's face it, how many overweight people are NOT depressed!!! Maybe another reason it works is because it IS an anti-depressant! SOme people still attach such a stigma to taking something like an antidepressant. They'd rather make their family (and self) miserable than admit they have a problem or need some help getting through a tough time. And losing weight IS TOUGH on a lot of people out there. Sometimes it goes a lot deeper than having ate too many Moon Pies and Big Macs over the years!
