He really was so thankful for her mother - the woman had helped them out a lot over the past couple years, since reconciling with Cassie, but he never felt quite right at her dinner parties. He was just never too sure that her friends were all that keen on having him around. His fingers in her hair tugged gently at a strand, and then rested at the base of her neck to squeeze gently, thumb stroking the soft skin on the side of her neck. "So what do you want to do for the rest of the afternoon, love? It's all yours. We could go out for dinner, or order in... Whatever you want to do." He spoke softly, as he almost always did, as his words were directed only to her - even if there had been anyone else around, there was no reason that they should here what he was saying for her.
