- Wher bonding is DEFINITELY not gender-specific, as at one point the wher-folk want a boy to stay to bond with Aleesk after Aleesa dies. So yeah, not gender-specific at all, even for queens.

Also, Anne confuses me. D: The thing about the un-taken watchwher egg and its hatchling "choosing" to go between in Dragon's Fire made me assume that all would, but Wikipedia quotes The Dragonlover's Guide to Pern as saying that "If a female hatches eggs away from a human habitation, the young return to the wild."

So, um, if they hatch with people around, they'll either bond or go between, but if people aren't around, they'll probably go wild? That's what I'm getting out of it. Does that sound right to anyone else?
