Subject: To hell with them
In reply to: DianeG 's message, "All "fired-up" about sim subs and beng submissive" on 12:46:32 02/28/06 Tue GMT-5

I think you know my feelings on this matter, Diane, but allow me to reiterate: sim subs are the only way to go. You will die waiting to be published if you wait for many of these magazines. There are many enlightened ones these days who encourage sim subs -- the Orchid Review in the US is one, and they have a great little rant on their site about it.

I think any magazine that really thinks writers are going to send them a story and then wait for a year or more for a rejection and then try another market is kidding themselves. Not to mention arrogant. As they point out on Orchid's site, the average story is rejected 20 times before it's accepted. So have you got twenty years to wait before your story sees the light of day? I don't. And as for magazines that put your name in a special file if you sim sub and get accepted elsewhere, I say to hell with them. Do you really need to take that kind of shit from anybody?

Arrrrr,

Lori
