Subject: E Books versus real books - your opinion?

I'm tired of seeing the ad, so I thought I'd post something. Do you think "real" books will become a thing of the past, and how would that affect writers?

I hope real books will never disappear and I wonder what would happen if the internet failed us. Also, information stored electronically degrades after a while. I worry about this because even libraries have computerized their catalogues - so if a link disappears into cyberspace, no one will ever be able to find the information.

Just a few grumbles on a very dark and wet morning.
