OK, I know I’m opening an old wound here, but has anyone checked out the Amazon.com’s “reviews” of Rebel Heart lately? The book has like a 4 ½ star customer rating, and I’m convinced most, if not all, are written by Der Buell. It’s funny, it’s so obvious—the writing’s the same, and most are like a press release for the book. Very sad and pathetic, because like it matters.That ain't going to ever sell your book, babe!
I checked and saw the same thing. It's obvious Bebe's still at her obsessive computer games. Not only are most of the reviews obviously written by her, but I noticed her desperate attempts to add stuff like "I can't wait to read 'Part 2' , as if there's actually someone out there interested in her failed life now that she's in her 50's living up in Maine. How pathetic.
And, of course, also: negative reviews get taken down. There were some very funny, very TRUE reviews of the book up there, but as has always happened SOMEONE complains and they get pulled. They go up, they get taken down. Der Buell wields her influence (though Amazon must be so sick of her and know she’s pulled a paranoid fast one on them)!
I too also noticed that all the genuine reviews have been deleted. You'd think amazon.com would have more integrity than that. It seems they had caught on to her Buellshit when she first started, and they were leaving the real reviews up there, but somehow she's got them falling for it again.
A writer friend of mine suggested I write about this experience, saying how Amazon has behaved with their “customers reviews”, and submit it to Publishers Weekly (who often publishes things like this, it’s like a “My Turn” page). I’m not up to the task, but I remember so many great, articulate writers on this board. Perhaps one of you will go for it!
I'd love to see that too. I'd really like to see ANY journalist do a real story on this scandal. It seems either journalists just read the press release that Bebe puts out and repeat her bullshit, OR they actually read the book and write about what crap it is. But nobody else seems to have any interest in her.
I'd really like to see a journalist who can write do a piece on the amazon.com scandal, and about her obsessive ranting on this board, but also busting her on the plain old bullshit she pumps out. Like saying all these songs are about her when not ONE of the guys who wrote the songs EVER says they're about Bebe, or even refers to her as their "muse", rather than just a groupie.
Or how she tries to look like she's so important to the rock stars she writes about when they never talk about her in interviews AT ALL, and NOT ONE has an autobiography where they "fondly remember" the night they spent with her years ago. Just nothing. There's a complete void of anyone who wants to talk about their days with Bebe Buell except for Bebe herself!!
Or how she turns her rocktar-chasing ways into "all the rockstars after me". LOL !! Ok, then, why is it again that Elvis Costello has his security "keep her at bay" (her words), and her ex needs a restraining order to keep her away?? PLEASSE !!
Or how she tried to sell her crap book by saying that "Almost Famous" was about her when on the DVD the director himself made it crystal clear that it was about a real girl named "Penny".
Or how she Buellshitted Howard Stern on his show by telling Howard that she never went after Steven Tyler for any money, which is a flat out lie. I'd love to see Howard bust her for that on his show, or bust her for her other bull too. Now THAT would be entertaining.
Or how about how she's managed to rewrite history again when she turns her brief failed modeling "career" into a success story where she was a "top model", even a "supermodel". HA HA . I mean the list is endless.
