Here Jesus is saying that no food is unclean , But if any one regards
something as unclean then for him it is unclean ( the key word is for man
not God says) longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died

Verse 15: If your brother is distressed because of what you eat you are no (If your brother is distressed over what you eat then do not eat it for that would be a hindrance to his less mature brother who thinks that unclean food is still in pratice ) Like in verse 20 : Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food . All food is clean ,. but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble

Verse 22 : So whatever you believe about these things keep them between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

Verse 23: But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
(If a man still practices the eating of unclean meat , now the law has changed it will take time to change the people , so not destroy the work of the God for the sake of food )

Acts 18: 12-13 While Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him into court. Verse 13: This man they charged, is persuading the people to worship GOD in ways contrary to the law ( Paul is trying to tell the Jews that some Laws had changed but they would not listen , so what Laws was he talking about that upset the Jews to the point of beating him)

Acts 10: 11-15
Verse 11: He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth be it�s four corners. Verse 12 : It contained all kinds of four footed animals , as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air
Verse 13: then a voice told him, Get up Peter. Kill and eat
Verse 14: Surely not Lord! Peter replied I have never eaten anything impure or unclean verse 15: the voice spoke to him a second time, Do not call anything impure that God has made clean ( God has made animals clean and the Gentiles also everything that was impure has now been made clean animals and Gentiles )this is why he is talking about the food to the church�s because the law�s have changed, what was once impure is now clean as spoken by God
Now some may have still observed the meats , but now it was not a order or mandatory that is why he is telling them about the meat like going back to Romans 14: 14
Now that you know better or know the truth do not criticize some for doing it and causing your brother to stumble.
Now that brings us back to Colossians 2: 14-17
Verse 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink or with regard to a religious festival a new moon celebration or a Sabbath day
Verse 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come the reality however is found in Christ look at the words ( were to come not things to come or things that are coming ) Now that you know the truth or know better do not judge others if they still do it , after that generation died out that was part of the old law, then things slowly changed about the meat and the other things as people were taught the truth about the meat and all other things . That�s just my opinion
