The latest report is that Mr. Venning had submitted his resignation as Comptroller. Some members of the Council asked him what it would take to keep him. He allegedly replied that he would stay if they offered him the City Managers job at 50K more than what Mr. Donat was receiving. Five members of the Council thought that this was a great deal; time will tell.
