I live on Broadway and let me tell you this letter is spot on. Imagine, your only day off, you can't sleep in because you have to get up and start paying a meter by 8 AM. It's so annoying, not to mention costly. I didn't know that parking spaces were reserved for city employees and that really galls me. My neighbor works the night shift and parks on a side street and walks a couple blocks (on dangerous streets) to get home just so that he doesn't have to pay a meter. I think you have to live it to really appreciate what this lady is saying.
