Whether we understand it or believe it, running on Trillions in dollar deficits and derivatives to the nth degree has us ALL "economically tied". As it relates to "poverty pimping", when was the last time you heard a politico at any level tell the fed reserve..."Nah, no thanks, we're good."? So on down the line. It's indicative of governance gone amok. When governance fails, it puts politics into play. "Culture" divisions make for a great distraction. It's an affair that pre-dates 1865 by eons and history tends to be cyclical. I agree with your "one community" mindset existing up until recent. Although I think the "cultural tie" was a mutual acceptance and indifference for culture in as much as shared attribute. Times being what they were, it was a requirement that benefitted the "economic tie", notwithstanding that symbiotic relationships are inherently self-serving. Fast forward..."Symbiotic relationships, pffft, Build Back Better Bucks Baby." tptb ramped up the mo' money printing in tandem with the "difference" pimping. History rhymes.
