So sad. But I agree there have been an increase in shootings lately. 2 more people shot last night and one of them died. These are happening in my councilwoman’s ward and she claims the city has a handle on crime and things are getting better? Very disappointed in her opinion which seems contrary to the facts. The City should consider bringing back recently retired Lieutenant Layhar as commissioner to work with new police chief on addressing crime and working with residents in our neighborhoods to address the violent crime together. Lieutenant Layhar used to come to community meetings, meet with residents, spoke with me and my neighbors on the phone and was very open and approachable at PCRRB meetings.
