In reply to: Citizen 's message, "Re: Mayor Harvey couldn’t get second for executive session?" on Wednesday, November12, 06:45:am

The mayor was completely disingenuous for chastising the three Council members for boycotting Monday night’s Executive Session. He said that they had a fiduciary ( guess he learned a new word) duty to go to to the Executive Session to hear the City Manager’s reasons for wanting to hire Police and Fire Commissioners. WRONG MR. MAYOR! It was the City Manager’s Duty to provide those answers during the budget workshops. Listening to the councilpersons comments at the Monday night open session, it seems that the City Manager posted for the two positions knowing that the majority of the Council did not support funding them in the 2026 budget. Today’s midhudsonnews.com reports that the City Manager set up Monday night’s Executive Session for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the two positions. If this is true, the City Manager was insubordinate. The midhudsonnews.com article goes on to list several strange behaviors exhibited by the City Manager, If all of these allegations are true, the mayor needs to get his act together and vote to send the City Manager packing to end this reign of terror in City Hall.
