Pray tell, what jobs are in the city of Newburgh to have a shortage of workers? For that matter, what jobs in this immediate area can help city residents, to rise above the poverty level? Looks like all businesses that are coming to Newburgh, pretty much come in with it's workforce in place. Only new employment, on any meaningful scale, will be the resorts world casino, in the Town of Newburgh. Which is basically benefiting the town residents by way of PILOT, which still equates to a reduction in residential tax liability. So again, I ask where are the City jobs within it's borders to benefit the people who live here? Not high end hospitality projects, or niche restaurants. More industrial development is needed within the City. Pierce's road is prime real estate for such development. Pitch that superfund site, as well as the acreage behind DPW for development. Close to all major highways. Not a city planner, but damn, use what we have.
