Dear Steve, I may have to duplicate this later, as I doubt you read birthday emails 4 months out. I doubt you are that bored! I saw you in Utica NY in 1978.I have enjoyed your music for years, my children cannot escape it ( you know...moms music is"gay" according to them).Whenever I need a boost, I listen to your music.I am really not much interested in seeing Journey now, as I think it would break my heart. YOU made Journey.Kind of like trying to extract the chocolate from a good milk shake, forget it!!My husband and I were married in 2003, as he sang "Patiently" accapella in a large open field.It was a Scottish wedding, but being that we both felt you were the ultimate vocalist, you were there with us for this part. My husband used to be a professional singer/bass player in his younger years. We enjoy critiquing some of the newer music to days of old when talent was more of a requirement to be a musician than it is now. Sure wish you could do some shows this way (North Carolina) for those of us who know what awesome really is when it comes to voice. Hope all is well with your hip .Wish we could just sit down and chat with you for awhile, we are huge fans. There is not a day that goes bye and I do not listen to that Golden Voice of yours. My carrer path in life has been in the Medical field (not complaining). However, if I was given an option or shall a say another selection it would be to have that God given voice that you have......

After all these years, I still love your music. Bought the greatest hits dvd. Watching it gave me goosebumps and took me back to a time when things were . . "moving slow so simple. . never felt this way." It's a great dvd!!! Man, no one can sing with passion and fire like you Steve Perry . . . you the man, the one and only, "JOURNEY!"

hope you had a great birthday. I've seen you guys many of times when your band came to Wisconsin. I was in Phoenix,Ar. acouple of years ago,when you came to there city on your, "for the love..."' tour, my flight back to Wisconsin was the night of your show,I was so disappointed.I remember when you guys played in Racine, Wisconsin back in 1978, you had trouble with the sound equipment, still a great show. I just wish that I could have seen you guys play in the late 70's with Van Halen,that would have been one hell of a show. I never forget your birthday, one, because you're my all time favorite... (Gets my husband a little upset but he understands.) And two because mine is today :) I've loved your music since I first heard Loving, Touching, Squeezing out at the the pool with my two girl friends who also were big followers of yours. Didn't even know about your part in the movie Monsters until viewing it on the Golden Globe tonight, congratulations! I've been to many of your concerts and always sat in one of the first five rows, didn't have contacts, I usually had to work for them, but you always made it worth it! I've been a fan of yours for many years. You got me thru my high school years. When I came home from school, I played the Escape and Captured albums everyday. I knew every song by heart. I remember in 1983 a friend of mine and I skipped school so we can get the Journey Jam tickets in Miami. We realized after we got the tickets it was general seating. That was funny. It was a great concert though. My first one. I was in 10th grade and loved seeing you for the first time, along with Aeorsmith, Sammy Hagar, Brian Adams. At the concert, my friend and I weaved our way forward through the crowd while the other bands were playing so we could see you in the front row. I was short, so a guy let me sit on his shoulders to see you. Towards the end of the concert, you slapped hands with the crowed, and I got to slap your hand. I don't think I washed my hands for days. That was the highlight of my high school years. I am 37 years old now, and want to thank you for the great memories, for making such great music and having by far the best voice there is. Hey Steve just wishing you a Happy Birthday. I'm only 15 but when I first heard your voice I was so amazed. You have been my favorite singer ever since. I got Journey's DVD not to long ago and it is awesome. Just wondering when you are coming back. Hopefully if you do come back it's with Journey. You really need to get back with Journey or go solo. Steve Perry, it's your birthday! You're 55 and still lookin' not a day over 28 to me!!

If, somehow by some miracle, you do read this, just know that I am one of your crazy young fans keeping your music alive in the high school crowd! Your voice touches me like no other. That's why you hold The Voice title; it does that to so many fans.

What would I be doing right now if I hadn't heard "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" again a year ago and if I hadn't listened to it closely like I did?

What would I be doing right now if I hadn't seen that gorgeous black-and-white Infinity-era headshot? My jaw dropped when I saw that picture... the hair! The smile! The eyes! In the words of Christopher Walken, "Oh, wowie wow wow wow!"

What would I be doing right now? Nothing! I would never have met your great fans... never have started sketching again... never have written a story on my own and then had a website made for me in honor of said stories (I told you, I'm a crazy one... but I acknowledge it). Look at the art that your wonderful music has driven me to do.

Thank you for the memories you have left for all of your fans and thank you for your time fronting the greatest band of all time, Journey!

Okay, okay, I've got two days. I wish I could send you one of my drawings. But I can't unless I become completely insane and go track you down and toss it to you as the authorities drag me away. Not worth the jail time, sorry.

But I forgot to thank you for the DVD!! It is WONDERFUL. I love seeing all of the videos. I really was born in the wrong decade. Like I said above, the red shirt and black pants from Evolution... wow. I thought it was hilarious when I first saw it this summer, but now... wow. I love it. I love the clothes. I love the music. As one of my good friends always yells, "JRNYROX!" And you do. Come back and sing for us one more time so I can get the opportunity to see you? I wish I could.

I am so excited that I have the opportunity to wish you a Happy Birthday! My birthday is on January 23 (I will be 34).

You are my absolute favorite singer of all time. And Journey has always been my favorite group of all time.

Unfortunately, I was never able to see you sing in concert and my dream is to someday have that come true.

Your voice is phenominal. Nothing compares to your "voice".

I recently received "The greatest hits DVD" and absolutely love it. I truly enjoy watching and hearing you sing. You are so awesome!

Years ago when I saw the VH1-Behind the Music for Journey, I cried because I miss you so much. I understand why you are doing what you are doing now but if you ever would tour solo or w/ Journey again, I'd be the first in line to buy a ticket (remember my dream!).

I have been a devoted fan since the Escape album. I was alot younger then and I'm still here.

I wish there was a way to see your reaction to all these great birthday messages.

You are a one of a kind person, Steve, and I wish you nothing but the best in your life and career. And maybe some day my dream will come true.

Wishing you a happy birthday sounds like an easy chore doesn't it? But when I sit here to write it, nothing sounds good enough. "Happy Birthday" is not enough. You have done so much and touched so many people, you deserve so much more. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful music, and now all the wonderful friends that I have made as a result of you. Steve, I've been listening to your music for 25 years now. I am a big fan and am glad to tell you 'Happy Birthday'. Do you know how many people would pay big money to hear you sing in person again? Can't 2004 be the year we get to see you in concert? Give the guys the chance to show you how much they've missed you. I know they would be glad for you to join them on stage again. We just recently had to take a 14 hour road trip and while I was driving for 4 hours straight your voice was keeping me going. I have been a huge fan of you and Journey since 1978 when you joined the band, I was 15 years old then, I have every album the band made with you on it of course or cassette, cd, I have tons of photos of you & the band saved from many moons ago, I even have other Journey parafinalia sold from back then, key chain, pins, t-shits ect.. I recently bought the new DVD you produced and it was wonderful, brought me back in time to some days when music was music and people were a bit more laid back and knew just how to have some fun at concerts. I always wondered if you have or will have written an autobiography on yourself, I have all kinds of things to remember you and Journey by cause you were and are still always my favorite singer even when you did your solo stuff, but there is so much about you Steve I don't know as a fan and am curious to know like: What is your favorite color? What kind of teenager were you? Were you ever married? Are you married now? Do you have any children? Who other than Sam Cooke were your favorite music influences? Were you considered to be a hippie back in the 1960's? Did you go to Woodstock? What's your favorite food? What was your favorite era? Do you think Steve Augeri really sings and looks alot like you? LOL that one don't answer, LOL I certainly DON'T!!! What I mean Steve is your my favorite singer and as a young teen I always idolized you to pieces my family and friends all know this and whenever they hear a Journey song they tell me they think of me right away. However as my idol and fovrite singer there still is so much me and the world still don't even know about you and would really love too. So, I am requesting a reply and a possible answer also to where if anywheres I can or may find an autobiography on yourself. My very best friend and I followed you all over the state of Florida when you toured here....we spent the night sleeping at the front doors of the arenas to get up front...from Jacksonville to Lakeland, to Miami...we were drenched at the rock superbowl in Orlando in 1981! Hey Steve, Just wanted to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. It just seems like yesterday when you exploded on the scene with Journey. I remember it very well. I was in my teens at the time and your music with Journey fit me just perfect. I was hooked from then on. I have been following Journey since 1977 and as of this day still enjoy the music that is produced from the group. Neal picked the right person to keep the Journey style alive, how ever it is just not the same without you. Steve .A. does a great job and I just recently went to see them in concert. Great Show but not like it use to be. Lets face it Man, you made Journey what they are today. Man, you rock. Take care Steve and best wishes on your Birthday. God gave you a gift and you took it to the extreme. Happy Birthday!!!!!!!

I hope you are able to find the time to read all of these birthday greetings. I wish you the best birthday ever. I don't mind saying I'm 39 1/2 yrs old and have been in total love with you since I was a teenager (1977) when I first heard your sweet voice. The closest I've ever been to you was to lay a rose at your feet at your FTLOSM tour in Atlanta, GA. I have been back stage at that concert as well as several Journey concerts, but have never been able to meet you. I pray I will meet you "someday soon", if for nothing else, to make sure you know how grateful I am that you have put up with so much pain and agony in the past and still sing on. Most singers lose something in their voice as the years go by, but man, yours just keeps getting better! Happy birthday Steve.

Hope your birthday is going well. I have two questions for you, whether you answer them or not I guess doesn't matter since you've heard them so many times over.

1) VH1's website lists that you've come out with a new album. Is that true?
2) As we all know, you still have an immense following out there Steve and as you said you've been discussing/thinking about touring (you stated in JOURNEY: Behind the Music). I just question if your delay relates to people knowing you everywhere and having things become scary (which is entirely understandable), but do you have any plans in the future for touring?

By the way, it was great to hear you on OFF THE RECORD w/Uncle Joe Benson...amazing how close you were since I live in Rockford, IL. Sat in front of the radio that entire time that night without any interruptions. Anyway, thanks so much for taking the time to read this and hope you have another great year.

Happy Birthday Steve! I like to say that when I started becoming a steve perry and journey fan since my younger teen's back in the early 90's. My reason for admiring your music with or without journey is your voice is literally the greatest in rock n' roll history. And I am 25 years old and I was fine seeing journey for the 1st and many times but I honestly would like if hopefully u could tour again with or without journey. U are the main reason I listen to journey and I still enjoy listening everytime. So please give me and other steve perry fans to hopefully see and hear u live in concert. I am remembering a interview on the radio with Kidd Kraddick here in Dallas,Texas where your told the lady's to kick off our shoe's and wiggle our toe's and we would be free. So kick off your shoe's wiggle toe's and be free.
Every one else has already told you how much we miss you, and would LOVE to hear new music and see you on tour. I'm the same and I also think that Neal and Jonathan messed up when they kicked you out. We would have waited for to the end of time if nessary for get back on your feet after surgery or whatever other forms of medical rehab. for you hip.
Anyway have a GREAT Birthday and live life to it's fullist.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!! I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF JOURNEY WITH YOU AS THE SINGER SINCE I WAS 13. NOW I'M 31 WILL BE 32 ON JANUARY 22ND. MY FIRST CONCERT WAS WHEN I WAS 13, AND JOURNEY WAS THE HEADLINER. THAT WAS THE RAISED ON RADIO TOUR IN 1986. THAT CONCERT WAS A BLAST. IT WAS AT MARKET SQUARE ARENA IN INDY. THAT WILL FOREVER BE IN MY MEMORY. THE SONG THAT I REMEMBER MOST WAS SEND HER MY LOVE. I HAVEN'T WENT TO ANOTHER JOURNEY CONCERT SINCE YOU LEFT THE BAND, IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME WITHOUT YOU STEVE!!! YOUR VOICE JUST CANNOT BE DUPLICATED. I HOPE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE A WONDERFUL YEAR AND YEARS TO COME. IT'S VERY COOL THAT WE SHARE THE SAME BIRTHDATE.

Steve, do you actually take the time to read all of these birthday wishes? I sure hope you do. The day I was born in Feb. 1987, Faithfully was playing on the radio in the back ground at Baylor Hospital, and my dad had tickets to see you at Reunion Arena in Dallas, TX. in December. I was born to be a Steve Perry fan! I sure wish to hear you sing with Neal & Jonathan again sometime in MY lifetime..., you owe it to MY generation!

Wanting to wish Happy B-Day to Steve Perry. I hope he gets this because i think he is the coolest guy in the world. Every time something goes wrong in my life I listen to any of his music & it makes me so happy. What's really funny is I'm 15 & in high school. Lots of people i ask don't even listen to music, which i can't see how you cna live without Journey or STEVE PERRY!!! I just got the dvd which is the best thing in the fregin world.
