Date Posted: 14:11:16 11/01/05 Tue In reply to: Government 's message, "Outfitting for Antarctica Trip via Army Surplus?" on 15:52:07 10/26/05 Wed Thanks Papa and others. I knew you'd have the inside scoop for me. I totally agree w/ Papa's assessment of wool. I used to use those snazzy goretex type of ski pants for my backcountry ski trips (lots of physical exertion and periodic rest. I switched to wool army pants and found them to be plenty water resistant & have a much wider comfort range. Goretex breathes, but not like wool. I guess they are landing on the ice via Zodiac. So she's concerned w/ getting WET, so she wants to go the Gore-Tex route. Women. I think it was Belevedre w/ the gore-tex suggestion. I'll check into that tonight. Thanks BTW. Oh, and Grapenuts, I'm told that I need to correct the story. It was 100 COWS, not 100 GOATS. And yes, it will be hard to top that one.
