Date Posted: 15:52:07 10/26/05 Wed Your mission should you choose to accept is to help me outfit my girlfriend & her mom for their trip to Antarctica. Yes, Antarctica. Today my goal is to figure out what to do for bottoms. Pretend we're starting from scratch. I'm thinking of a 3 layer approach, Base, Thermal, Shell. [I'm avoiding a snow suit approach]. SHELL - For all my winter outdoor pursuits (particularly hunting and backcountry skiing) I have long since abandoned modern snazzy fabrics in favor of old school heavy duty Army Surplus wool pants. Does anyone know the 'real' name of these pants or a good place to look for them near Lansing or on the 'net? THERMAL - Fleece pants, no-brainer. BASE - Snazzy wicking layer. Cabelas will have something. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
