"Elizabeth, why don't you write an ending to the series and post it?"

That's a really great idea! I hope you can find the time to sit through some episodes.

"Of course, we still don't know what happened in the remaining episodes of the series. I really wish they would release them."

According to that Classic Australian Television site (www.classicaustraliantv.com/advljs1.htm), the final (26th) episode was "Ship o' the Dead," which is currently available and doesn't include any major departures from the original premise. In fact, to me, it really epitomizes the original premise!

The last episode to be aired, however, was "Internal Triangle," on March 31, 1959. There's no description given for that episode (I hope it's not lost!), however, here's the synopsis for "Strange Cargo," which aired just a week before: "While fighting the French, Long John and his crew come across a group of young English women who were held captive. Much to Long John's chagrin, the crew forget all about the French treasure and become besotted by the women, who are being chaperoned by spinster Miss Piper." Either way it doesn't seem like much changed between Long John and Purity.

BTW, I just noticed another homage to Robert Newton in "Pirates of the Caribbean"--the name of the governor's daughter in "Long John Silver" just happens to be Elizabeth! ;-) (Whether the homage is intentional or not, I don't know, but I like to think it is.)

My friend Avelise used to tease me about when Jack Sparrow would say "Elizabeth" of course meaning Elizabeth Swann.
But it was really funny cause she used to say "I bet you like to hear that don't you?" I'm still always like "Avelise, shut up."
In the movie Lonh John Silver isn't the Governor's girl's name Elizabeth?
Ha that's funny, maybe that's why they named Elizabeth Swann ELizabeth!
