In reply to: Charles Mathis 's message, "Corinth Headquarters Guard Duties" on 09/ 7/05 9:58:42pm

This is what I was told by the Division staff. We will be the division provosts. We will act as the Division HQ guard. Jon and I will rotate out of duties as the OOD and each squad will rotate duties. Those duties will consist of guarding the Division Staff, Caring for the Division Horses, joining the battalion for the battles, and any other duties the division deems necessary for us to complete. I would expect pickets around the division camp and guard duty around the General’s “tent.” I would not expect any advanced or rearguard duties. We are with the Division Staff everyone but us is a “Big Bug.” The best thing you can study is Hardees.

Remember the words of Robert Burns, “The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft aglee.” Things will probably change when we get there and during the course of the event just be ready to adapt.
