Lawton (CSA QM) was continually frustrated by the inability to obtain overcoats. There were a subtantial number of imported overcoats obtained in 64 but not much evidence they made it to the troops in the field. Captured and homespun was the rule. The blankets are intriquing - anybody know how many are in a "bail?"

Good point on only replacing worn out jackets - very true.
