I personally love this idea. Fred chatted with me about it last evening and I rushed over here to the board to be the first to post the idea and found that the rat had beat me to the punch.

Personally, I feel that our regiment will be in excellent hands. Fred is working extremely hard to make sure that this will be a top-notch effort and substantial work is being done to make the experience as close as it can be to what those lads experience south of Nashville so many years back.

As it was explained to me, those of us who are taken prisoner during the fight at Franklin will either spend several hours with the Feds, or (preferably) the whole night pending an exchange the next morning. None of this keep our weapons with us business but rather go down to just the necessary survival items Fred mentioned in his post- canteen, haversack, blanket. Much of the focus for this event is on the Franklin assualt and actually having some of the comrades that we went into the fight with absent from the fire that night will be fantastic. I think it will really reinforce the whole feeling and experience of it. Too many times the little bugle blows, everyone gets up, and then we go back to page one. Not this time. I know the event organizers are setting this up for the fighting to continue past dark, just as it originally did. So let's hope our comrades in the AOP agree to the prisoner scenario that Major Fisher is proposing!
