The United Kingdom has its first finalist in Miss World 2004, thanks to Miss Wales� triumphant display of award-winning athleticism at today�s Best Sports Woman event. By winning one of the five key events in the tournament, Wales is now fast-tracked to the Final on December 4th.

Wales beat of fierce competition from the ten girls competing in today�s final, with Australia coming a close second and Peru and Trinidad and Tobago placing joint third. It was a hard fought battle throughout all three disciplines, with Miss World records being broken in swimming (Australia) and long jump (Wales).
