Come now, Mizz J. Are things that nice and simple at LK? Let's put it this way: whoever is assessing the writing
(or attempting to do so) has some sort of agenda; he/she wants writing that is hip, but not angry; sexy, but not obscene; political but safely liberal or moderately conservative; sort of intelligent but not overly logical or scientific; collegiate and cafe-life, but not academic. Tame. Predictably cynical-lite. Sort of like Joan Didion on Xanax.
