OK, point 1 - Mat and Tuon:

This is actually my favourite plot thread at the moment. I really can't see how its going to play out at all, and I'm just dying to find out! I think we'll all just have to wait and see on this one.

2) Oliver == Gaidal Cain.
This is one I've heard a few time. Initially I was quite sceptical, but it could just be true. It has a certain appeal, and there are as you say a few hints in that direction. It would make the timeline very knotty though. My memory is a bit hazy as to when we last saw Cain in TAR (or if we ever saw him there). Did he help Perrin when Slayer chased him to the Tower of Unpronounceable? I have some vague memory of that happening, which was certainly well after we met Oliver, let alone Oliver's birth. Whatever about time working differently in TAR that kind of wierd bi-location would be hard for me to swallow. Doesn't mean it isn't true though.
As for the point of Oliver - well, there are more uses for characters than just as plot devices. I mean, strictly speaking, quite a few characters aren't essential to the plot - they just provide a little extra pizzazz.

3) I think that bit about "Who shall follow after" is actually one of the Prophesies - about who will next use Callandor. I thought it had been more or less fulfilled when Narishima used Callandor at the end of Winters Heart - though there may be more to come in the future.

4) Its conceivable that the blasting of the doorway (sealing Morraine in Finnland) was enough to sever or at least seem to sever the warder bond. I know Morraine's other visits to the Finn's had no effect on the bond, but the destruction of the door puts us into uncertain territory again. Personally I have a strong feeling Morraine will be making a reappearance, though possibly not until the very end of the series. I think its possible that Morraine and Lanfear , or maybe just Morraine survived on the far side in Finnland. Lanfear is definately back with us, so she either bargained her way out with her three wishes, or probably more likely died and was re-incarnated. She may have died the way Mat almost did, or in the fight itself.
Various things point to Morraine still being alive in Finnland. There's prophesy/viewing at one point of Thom pulling Morraine's blue gem out of a fire, and also Oliver's fixation on Snakes and Foxes hint that they will stage a rescue attempt at some point. All speculation, but that's what WoT does to you...

Thats about it then. I haven't really posted on anything WoT related for almost a year. Now I'm all interested again.
Damn -- And I still have 4 months to wait.
