I saw my oncologoist unexpectedly today without an appointment. Since I was in the building for the eye doctor, I went to see him because my feet, legs, and ankles are REALLY swollen. They've never been THIS swollen. Well, it ended up being a really GOOD doctors appointment. He took one look at my face and the lack of rash that is there now and he is very happy with my progress since it was just Friday when I was released from the hospital. I am supposed to see him anyway this coming Monday, the 25th but I saw him a week early. He still wants to see me on the 25th.

Because I am doing SO WELL...

Since I'm not getting radiation anymore, he is ready to start weaning me OFF the steroid. I can cut that dosage in half as of today. And take it that way for a week. I may get to get cut THAT in half when I see him next week.

I do NOT have to continue to "washings" of my ears since they are looking MUCH better. I was using a special powder mixed with water to "wash" my ears with, then use an antibiotic cream to prevent infection. He said my ears look good enough to leave them alone now.

He doesn't think I'll have any scarring from the rashes and the blistering anywhere.

Great, huh?!?!?!?!?!?

As for the swelling in my feet, he thinks some of that is because of the steroid. So, since I'm cutting that in half as of today, that should be starting to relieved just from that. But he is putting me on a fluid pill and potassium to help it along.

I'm telling you what, the Man Upstairs really looks down on me and keeps me in the palm of His Hands. If someone has to go through all this and there is a positive and a negative side to it, He definitely has me on the positive side. He has given me the "best case scenario" it seems with all my bumps in the road. I feel so blessed. It could have been and still could be SO MUCH WORSE and it's NOT!!! I imagine all your prayers are keeping me at the top of his list. I sure hope so!!! Thank you all so much for your prayers and positive thoughts!!
