What? The doctor said you have navel beans? Beans in your navel????? I guess those would be easier to deal with than kidney beans..... You know, Navelbine seemed to be working well for my dad. The doctor saw shrinkage in the tumor after only two treatments. Unfortunately, other complications arose, so we'll never know just how successful that drug would have been. But it seemed to start working pretty quickly. I hope it does the same for you! I know it caused my dad to feel fatigued, and as you already know, it causes a significant drop in the white cell count at first. But he didn't have any real serious side effects.

Good luck!

Hopefully my cocktail will be like my fuzzy navels.

I remember that's what you said about your Dad. I have to admit, that is encouraging. This is the drug that I have a good feeling about. I have felt good about it since the first time he mentioned it months ago. I felt good about the Gemcitabine and it worked great for months.

I don't like drugs that have an X in them, they don't seem to work. I've had Taxol, Taxotere, and Xeloda. I like the drugs that remind me of a drink. Gemcitabine = Jim Beam. Navelbine = Fuzzy Navel. It provides entertainment value.

My doctor told me about the blood counts. He doesn't expect it to be much worse than when I was on the Gemcitabine. I just hope he remembers to expect the unexpected with me.

I hope it works well for you. Yeah, your white count will drop at first, but even in my dad's case, the count went back up after a week or so.

Hey--maybe you can ask for Navelbine with Grenadine!
