Deftly deflecting further questions with a weary but sincere smile, Hex turned his attentions to the one he had missed most of all. Ah, his precious Takara! Even after all the time he had been away, either fighting or bringing home other Lights, she was still there, offering her unconditional love and support. It warmed his battered heart to know that there was a constant source of stability in his life when all other aspects seemed to be running amok. He took comfort in her touch, never flinching as her muzzle prodded at his scarred side. The fear that she would find his new adornment revolting melted away, leaving him in a blissfully contented place. A place where his subjects were healthy and happy and secure in their safety. Arching his neck, he whuffled lightly in her ear, his lips barely brushing the sensitive digits.

"I'm glad to be back, chere. The months without you beside me have been hell, but it is all worth it to see you once again."

Truer words were never spoken. The russet stallion would move Heaven and Earth to ensure that his kingdom was safe, but would take on Lucifer and his minions if they dared to upset his mate. His love for her bordered on obsession, and while he couldn't always show it, his thoughts never strayed far from her.

Having regained his energy and source of strength, the sorrel stud raised his head to survey those who remained near. His melodic baritone rang forth, addressing those within earshot.

"I appreciate the concern from all of you and appreciate it more that Paradise Isle continued to function smoothly during my absence."

That being said, Hex applied himself more thoroughly to exploring his most precious treasure's soft neck with his muzzle, glorying in the rare opportunity to just be for a short while.
