Hi Roper! Nice to ''meet'' you!!

I have 13 pets, so I can relate!:)

I once had a beautiful long-haired Calico cat named 'Ginger', and then one day, I fell madly in love with a 6-week old Shih-Tzu puppy!! I named her ''Crissy', and brought her home, not knowing how my spoiled girl, Ginger, would react after having the run of the mill for 7 years. Well, as soon as I sat Crissy down, she went after Ginger with her tail wagging, but Crissy was way too small to get up on the sofa where Ginger was, trying to figure out what this ''mop'' was doing chasing her!

Anyway, the first 2 days, Ginger was NOT happy! But after the 2nd day, a miracle happened! Ginger became ''mommy'' to Crissy, and then they were inseparable!! Ginger would groom Crissy, they would sleep together, eat together, and chased each other! It was a riot!!! They got along fabulously!

I'm not sure if you are bringing a puppy home to the cat, or anohter cat home to a puppy! Either way, it's always a ''gamble'', because it depends on the personality of the cat/dog. It's best if the cat is introduced to a PUPPY, rather then a dog, and a DOG introduced to a kitten. Their instincts are such, that they KNOW when they are young, and tend to leave them alone, and/or nurture them.

My suggestion is to make sure you supervise very well the first week, and if they are not getting along by then...chances are that will be as good as it will get! Just give it time!:)

As for a name, since you already have a ''Frankenstein'', why not ''Boris'' (Karloff)? Providing, of course, you already know the sex!!:)

Good luck, and keep us posted!!
