Subject: NRL Cadet Program

Hi,

After being told by the NRL and other sources that the three NRL "cadets" will not be fast-tracked, i was stunned on Saturday night at Gosford to see MR Henry Perenara sideline officiating beside Steve Carrall. Messrs Carrall and Perenara swapped throughout the game as touch judges, standing and running besides each other.

It is utter rubbish that a man who has never refereed in his life can walk straight into tough judging in the NRL.

Many referees at District and Junior Reps level would relish the opportunity to touch judge an NRL trial.

It isnt right that men who have been refereeing for years have been told of late that at 30ish, they are too old for grading, when players, i.e. Mellor, are over 30, never refereed in their life, and here we go, is now a sideline official.

NRL PLEASE EXPLAIN!
