Subject: PAUL SIMPKINS - YOU WERE OUTSTANDING !!!!!

I've just finished watching the 3rd State of Origin game won by NSW 18 points to 4.

Now I've been watching footy for a long long time and also seen a lot of referees come and go but what i saw tonight from Paul Simpkins was in my opinion one of the most outstanding performances from a referee I have ever seen in my life.

Not one mistake, every call was spot on and it just goes to show you dont have a game with a small number of penalties to have an enjoyable game of footy.

In fact I'd even go so far as to say that some referees who just let everything go and not penalise many things only create dour and frustrating games that can sometimes be unpleasant to watch. Hint - State of Origin game 2.

I think tonight there were 14 penalties in the game which many people these days might consider too many but I couldnt disagree more as it causes more open footy !

Congratulations to Paul for an outstanding 10 out of 10 effort. Based on this evenings performance you are a shoe in for the Grand Final, and deservedly so.
