New Zealand Dennis Basargin
The General Assembly
Increase the Awareness of AIDS

The General Assembly,

Realizing that all countries have the right “in the dignity and worth of the human person”, New Zealand is losing many lives from A.I.D.S that would be considered a lot for a terrorist attack upon any other country,

Aware that there is no cure for A.I.D.S and it is not in our grasp to completely terminate the Aids virus, however there is still room for the death and spread of the A.I.D.S virus causes to decrease,

I. Expresses Deep Concern

(A) Since the people dying and living with the A.I.D.S virus, about 1,200 people each year, since this many people still live with it, how do these people have the right in the dignity and worth of the human person, that is declared in the preamble of the United Nations, because they do not have the same options as others, and they do not live as long;

(B) New Zealand is in need of increased awareness of the virus A.I.D.S, so the people can be cautious and concerned of the effects of AIDS;

(C) Two thirds of the 600,000 overseas-born people that live in New Zealand come from Asia, and three Asian countries have already had to contend with serious national wide epidemics that include Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand which are near New Zealand;

II. Is Aware That

(A) Realizes that the costs of advertising this awareness may be costly;

(B) Recognizes that the people of New Zealand and people who are effected by New Zealand have the right to a secure, non-threatening living environment;

(C) Is aware that the cost of the matter is important to the UN and New Zealand, but by securing the lives of millions of people is a small price to pay;

III. Recommends

(A) That the Economic and Social Council:

1. Advertise risks of AIDS through magazines, commercials, and brochures;

2. Set up programs and seminars in stores, hangouts, schools, hotels, work ect. for how to prevent, how you get it, causes, effects, and spreads;

3. To make AIDS the information of AIDS general information;

4. Set up seminars for individual who hold the AIDS virus.
