Germany Name Alex deCillia
The General Assembly
The effect that AIDS has on Germany

The General Assembly,

Realizing that all countries have a right to live in peace and freedom, Germany is dealing with growing problems regarding the HIV/AIDS epidemic and we fear for the safety of our people,

Aware that in the past Germany has not had that much of a problem and that still today AIDS only affects .1% of adults in our country, but it is on the rise and some day if not contained could terrorize the lives of many innocent people in our country,

I. Expresses Deep Concern

(A) Every year the count of deaths and children orphaned because of AIDS is on the steady downfall, in 2001 the deaths reached 661, which is 661 people to many, but our hard work is paying off and Germany is on the road to 0 deaths;

(B) The resulting age groups where most of the deaths are occurring, is in the range from 30-50, the problem is that those ages are still having children and Germany fears that they may infect the children with HIV;

(C) The country of Germany is concerned that not everyone is able to afford the proper health care and immunization as babies, and they need that to help stay protected from HIV/AIDS;

II. Is Aware That

(A) Year-by-year the number of deaths caused by AIDS in Germany is lowering and progress is being made;

(B) Recognizes that the UNAIDS has already provided so much assistance to our country in the fight against AIDS;

(C) Is aware that the Working group has already taken giant steps towards eliminating the AIDS problem, by improving the monitoring and surveillance of AIDS in not just our country but all countries;

III Recommends

(A) That the Security Council:

1. Continue to fund our corporations that are entirely devoted to researching cures for AIDS;

2. Listen to our demands to provide the proper healthcare for all people in our country, not just the people with all of the money, because everyone has the right to get proper health treatment, because they to are a living person;

3. Continues to help develop the UNAIDS organization that is doing such a wonderful job improving the conditions for people living with HIV;

4. Set up a council that will determine the amount of money per year that is sent to countries to aid them with research on this epidemic;

5. Set up clinics across the country that provide information to young teenagers on the dangers of HIV and how it can ruin the dreams they’ve worked so hard for;

6. Set up a UN team charged with educating the scientists on the latest information found on the treatments for AIDS;

7. Communicate with all countries so that if one cure is found we are all able to share it as members of the same world all facing a terrible problem that affects so many innocent people.

8. Proposes a treaty that unifies all nations in the fight to find a cure for AIDS, and gives all nations the same information about the cures;
