Ostensibly, Lenariah's compliment had caught him rather off gaurd as the brush nearly faultered from his hand. Yet the awkwardness in his otherwise-seamless movements passed in a moment, the utensil properly sliding across the horse's coppery pelt once more.

"I must make the one concession that my gift with these creatures surpasses that of any other I know," Tevion stated with downcast eyes, rather self-conscious of the recent appraise. "I share such closeness with them for it is one element of the power my land has bequeathed to me."

Satisfied with the now gleaming coat, the brush was replaced into his embossed saddlebag and the indigo blanket retrieved along with both saddle and girth.

"Come."

The rich tenor was quiet yet backed by a soft air of command, beckoning the enchantress. Guiding her own delicate hands with his slender ones, together they tacked the passive mare. From time to time his voice murmured explanations though his true concentration lay not on conversation. As Lenariah slipped the bridle over her steed's chiselled cranium, the young lord took a moment to survey their work. A grin spread across his stately features.

"You doubt your abilities as a stable-hand, but your patience and attention to detail would make you of the finest."

Tevion turned to he midnight stallion not far from reach. With speed and precision bourn from his lifetime of practice, the mount was again under saddle and rein within a few minutes' time, coat shining in the hazy midday sun. With an offer of aide to the healer, his cool grip caught her slim figure and smoothly placed it atop the waiting equus. The strength of his body was suprising: the muscles were lean yet powerful, like those of one who spends much time in the water. The fluidity of his action was not lost as in one refined twist he had sprung into the waiting stirrups.

"Forgive my leaving you for this moment, but I am much needed by my sister at the moment."

At the slightest pressure from his master's legs, the ebony beast sprung forth into a waltzing canter, clearing the scar of the stream with one great push of his hindquarters. For the brief instance he was mounted, the skill the young lord possessed was showcased to the observing eye. Horse and rider moved as one, anticipating the movements of one another and blending flawlessly into a symbiotic spirit.

Celefé watched him approach, silver eyes alert yet lacking their customary flicker of life now replaced by a wall of impenetrable granite. While she finished cinching the girth on her grey stallion, Tevion came aside her and dismounted.

"I have not come to offer you words of sympathy, for I know you do not want them. Nor will I speak of the unpreventability of the situation as your desire for them is naut. I only ask that whatever your plans may be, and do not deny their existence, I only ask you to keep safe. For you are my sister, closest to my flesh and blood, whom no other could replace."

For the first time since he had begun speaking, she met his gaze. Under their penetrating blue depths, she could not keep her silence.

"As you know me so well, brother, you are aware that I may not always be far from. But to the best of my abilities, I shall grant your wish."

His should was at the perfect height for her chin to rest on , and so it lay there as they embraced. For a fleeting moment her grip on him tightened as a wave of fear engulfed her, though soon her arms were lack and she released him.

"Now let us go, for I promised our new Healer that I would only be a moment and it has been many."

Together, Celefé and Tevion rode across the field, the banner he held proudly displaying its colours in the speed of his mount. As they halted beside Lenariah, Celefé's clear voice rang out through the lea in a call for her soldiers to make ready. In an automated response, the hundred warriors astride their steeds cantered to their general, forming four columns of bright armour.

Now Celefé turned to the forest that lay behind where Tevion and Lenariah had rested. In its shadows a pathway seemed to waver like an arboreal mirage, sliding in and out of view. As she urged her grey stallion onto it though, the trail solidified, boughs arched overhead and a green-gold light filtering onto it in strange patterns. Soon the entire company had found a steady trotting pace along the way which appeared much like the one they followed earlier.

Riding between his sister and Lenariah, Tevion leaned over to the latter.

"I fear that I have been a rather poor host to you so far. I ask you into the service of my people yet give you no discription of our home and mores. And you so benevolently accept! Please, ask what questions you may of me as they can be but one small part of my reparations."
