"Love you too, sweetheart, relax and I'll be home soon." He smiled lightly, hanging up the phone before he got down to work. It wasn't much longer that Marc showed up with Sirus and the dog slipped into work mode as easily as Brett did when he was so inclined. A smile played on his lips as he guided the excited and intense dog around the building, letting him catch scents and trails. Sirus already knew Luca's scent from articles of clothing and such the man had left at the old apartment and as soon as he caught it his hackles were raised and he was barking and growling. Unfortunantly, the trail for Sirus to follow gave out across the street where appearantly the bastard had a getaway car waiting for him. After another hour and a half he finally gave up at the bistro and wrote out a generous check to the owner of the family operated small business to cover for the loss of income that evening. Calling out a goodbye to his friends and co-workers, he clipped on Sirus's lead. The dog was getting big these days and was intimidating to people on the street despite the fact he was a well behaved baby. A smile played on his lips as he got in the car, just at the thought of seeing his girlfriend and it seemed Sirus was excited too. It didn't take them long to get home and headed into the apartment, his eyes moving over the place. Soon, they were going to get a house, that was on the list of things he wanted to do. A yawn escaped his lips as he unhooked Sirus and then headed into the kitchen, quiet in case she was sleeping. Soon enough he was tossing two steaks into the microwave to thaw - him and his dog needed some protein. Once they were defrosting he toed off his shoes and his t-shirt, heading down the hallway to check and see if she was sleeping yet...

Her long, warm bath had her completely relaxed so that by the time the water cooled she only had the energy to drag herself out of the tub, towel off, and then crawl beneath the plentiful blankets on their king-sized bed, worn out from the stress and panic of the eventful day. She braided her long, dark hair low and loosely over one shoulder before burrowing down into the pillows and dozing off for a while. She was just waking up when he let himself in, and she actually tensed for a moment as she strained her ears to listen to the movements in the rest of the apartment. It was easy for her to determine it was him though - so familiar with his sounds she was - and so she relaxed immediately, a warm and fuzzy smile softening her features as she nestled back down into a fluffy pillow to wait for him to discover her.
