The place was large and airy, the decorations done by Lexi with some help from her sister. A tiny orange kitten was curled up on the couch most of the time - he didn't do much other then sleep - the apartment encouraged that relaxed atmosphere. It was her hiding place, her sanctuary and it was all hers...

I believe I can see the future

Another day, and he was just chilling at her place while she went off to work the job that she hated. For most of morning, he had been lounging on the couch - watching his talkshows - but then had gone for a nice long run and returned just in time to catch the telephone as it was on its fourth ring. The man on the other end had been looking for Alexis, but the two men chatted a little, and then Colin was revealed as 'the' Colin Black, and moments later they were swapping stories and laughing like old buddies. It turned out, the phonecaller was in the business and hunting down agents to interview to fill a field position, and had had Bailey's name on file so decided to put in a call. However, by the end of their conversation, Colin was the one with an interview the next day and there was only a phone number scrawled on a post-it note for Bailey to return the call. He was in a good mood and freshly showered and shaven, and now sitting at the kitchen table thumbing through the newspaper as he snacked on popcorn...

Considering that he had once loved when work was slow and there was nothing that he had to do, it was a strange feeling for him to be itching for something to happen. Bailey was so busy these days with her new job, and his contract had run out with the agency and neither he nor the boss had expressed much interest in rewriting it, so he had been jobless for about... Oh, eight days, three hours, and forty-seven minutes. The longest eight days of his life, he was pretty sure. It was very different not doing anything when he was employed and not doing anything when he was unemployed. So, he had thrown himself into the ambitious task of watching every single talk show on television, every day - from Oprah to Ellen, to Maury, and Jerry, and Jay and Conan. He had made a whole cast of new friends, and was growing obsessive - but no worries, really, because one of these days, someone would call to offer him a new job. He wasn't about to go out job hunting, oh no, the Colin Black did not job hunt. Unshaven, but showered for the day, he was stretched out in his typical position on the couch - one hand above his head and the other resting over the remote on his stomach, eyes drifting shut for a few moments every once in a while - he was clearly near dozing...

It had taken awhile but slowly things were getting somewhat back to normal for them. Well, no, that was a lie, things were far from normal. With neither one of them with the agency it was definately a different sort of life for them but they were working things out. She was just so glad he was clean but, even though she tried not to, she was always worrying about him falling back into the habit. She was just trying to have faith that he was stronger then that to keep herself from going crazy with worry. At the moment she was distracting herself by getting way into this case she was working on - she was going over witness and associate interviews, just trying to link together some of the people who she just knew were acquainted and yet they just weren't admitting it. The case was a high profile one but it still didn't really suppply the adrenaline she needed and she was seriously considering yet again changing her job. With a low sigh she drew off her thin silver rimmed reading glasses and rubbed her temples gently, easing the light headache that had settled into her brain.

He was still trying to decide if he was actually 'cured' because he truly was, or because the doctors figured that he was far enough along that - with some uppers thrown in there - he could be released. Truly, he was thankful to be out more than anything, but was struggling with his own insecurities about whether or not he was really ready to be there. He was terrified of slipping back into old ways and was feeling so unsure about what the future would hold - but he was here, and he couldn't wait to see her, and then he couldn't wait to curl up in bed and sleep. That was one of his most favorite past-times of late - sleeping, which had his doctor concerned about his state of mental health, but again, that's what his happy pills were for. Exhaling a deep breath, he shifted his bag on his shoulder and knocked at her door - weeks ago he would have just let himself in, but now he was a little uncertain about where things stood. Though, he didn't doubt that she had missed him and could only imagine how happy she would be to see him - and of course, the feeling was mutual...

The past few weeks had been long, and if it weren't for the windows in the lounge area of the center and the strict lights out and lights on times - he would have no concept of time. Without the mental stimulation of his demon, most of all he felt like doing was sleeping, and so he did - for days at a time, it felt like. Sometimes he felt like he was going insane, and sometimes his mind took a dark twist and he wondered if he wouldn't be better off just doing away with himself - though when he managed to grab a moment of clear thought, he couldn't believe he was thinking such things. All things considered, the last couple days had seemed a little better and that afternoon he was feeling a bit more like himself - he knew it wouldn't last long, but it was encouraging to know that 'he' still existed, and he was feeling more confident that he would get through this. The positive change in his attitude for the day had caught the attention of one of the nurses and she had passed the information on to a doctor, and thus he was allowed to make the phonecall that he had just dialed. Sitting sideways in the bench seat infront of the phone in the hallway, he leaned his head back and waited impatiently for her to answer - just praying that she would be home...

She led the way in, the pamphlets tucked into her messenger bag over her shoulder. "You have a bunch of clothes and stuff here." She told him, as if he didn't already know that but she was kind of at a loss right now. Her eyes drifted over to him briefly before she set down her bag on the table. Shifting a bit, she looked over to him once more, not bothering to ask if he was hungry cuz she was sure he wasn't. A low breath escaped her lips as she shifted, so unsure of what to say or do. They hadn't been talking for almost two weeks and now there was this - so what was she supposed to do?

She had heard the rumors but hadn't really thought about them until Shaun had come home in a dark mood one night. That had her thinking over her past encounters with Colin, trying to see any hints though she couldn't think of anything. When Lexi had come home all upset though, she knew that it all added up and then her daughters boyfriend really did have a problem. Tonight was the third time that Lexi had come over all upset, she was even spending the night there tonight - saying she just didn't feel like driving home. Bailey had the feeling Colin wasn't expecting Lexi to stay out all night and this just seemed like a good chance to talk to the boy. With a sigh she shook her head, she had gone though this with Shaun and she didn't want the same thing to happen to her girl...

She'd had an interview today but she hadn't really liked the way it had gone so she was sitting at the desk - still in her suit and heels as she spoke on the phone and jotted down some notes with the agency she was speaking with then. A hand ran over her dark hair before she started letting down her hair by removing the pins that were holding up the sleek, professional up do one by one. "Yes sir, 8 years of experience. Yes, you can check my references." She grabbed her old business card and rattled off the number and then her call name before wrapping up that call and sorting through her papers for the next hopeful employer. Maybe she should just be self employed, a bounty hunter or something, she thought to herself with a growl, shaking her head of her thoughts to work on her job hunting.
