I'm not closing the cow, but I've been on a break that will likely continue until something changes for the better at ABC daytime. Anne and I started this board mostly because we kept going OT about GH at TT. The only thing I can say about GH these days is - wow, glad I stopped watching a long time ago. I check the rags. I read the boards. Until PrZZZZZZZZa leaves - or apologizes to the memory of AJ Quartermaine, or kills the entire Corinthos family, or at least gives the rest of the town a fair shake, nothing NO THING is worth so much as a peek.
This makes me sad. I would love love love to see Tracy and Luke together. But not as ancillary filler between Sonny and Emily's viagra-induced "underdog" romance. I read in some rag that Maurice thinks Soily II (not to be confused with Soily I - clink boom clink boom) is rootable because the whole town is against them.
As is so often the case where Sonny is concerned, the whole town is right. Again.
It kills me to not see Noah, his son - who looks like a gorgeous young man, Robin, Robert !!!, and Holly!!!! I was never an Anna fan, btw. Not that it matters, but I wasn't.
But, guess what? I don't want to watch these people end up either sucking up to Sonny and Jason or getting run down by them. Between the Ric-Sonny story, which is a total rip-off of the AJ - Jason story that was already, unfortunately, in play when Ric came on the canvas, and the twisted historical re-write that preceded the unbelievable assassination of AJ (hey, PrZZZZZZa, I was watching - AJ was a sweetie in recovery, Carly DRUGGED him to keep him from screwing up her meal ticket with her mother's husband, Jason helped steal Michael - even though he couldn't lie - because Carly figured AJ might be pissed enough about her drugging him to try for custody of their child... she was a bad mother), I saw decks stacked so steeply in Sonny and Jason's favor that no character, new or established, could survive intact. Not even Luke escaped unscathed (though Tony Geary is always watchable). I saw Robin turned into a self-righteous little twit, and I'm not even sure why. I would say it was just to make Carly look good, but (a) Sarah Brown didn't need a leg up - when she was in the role, Carly wasn't good - she was interesting, and (b) Robin was treated then like Emily is treated now - I think we were supposed to like her at her MOST overexposed and insufferable.
I saw Carly the booty call turned into Jason's boss. Um, I guess I'm supposed to believe she loves him, but I don't.
I have seen every character on the show who gets anywhere near Sonny or Jason turned into a toady or a fool.
I will not watch that with Robert and Holly.
I was loving AMC, but it's gotten gruesome and stupid again. Always a risk with McCrappish. Plus, Dixie's back. ANd of course she has a saintly reason for having played dead. I just don't particularly care what it is.
OLTL is just awful. The trend to make established characters stupid in order to make it "believable" that cartoon villains would be able to run amok and unsuspected bored the living shit out of me in 1997. Nine years later, everyone I ever cared about is so stupid, it's not even worth taping the show to see how dumb they're gonna get this time. Even the new characters are stupid. CAM is just now figuring out that Dr. Needledick's not her friend. CAM is smarter than everyone else in Llanview put together. Whatever. Never mind that it makes no sense for Dr. Needledick to have kept her alive for one minute longer than it took to make Todd think he might have had a hand in her death. See, that's the only thing interesting to me. The yawning holes in the plot.
