It is also interesting that in Star Wars Luke imitates Darth Vader before he knows what their relationship is. His hatred of Vader leads him into the dark side of the force, and then when Vader reveals that he is Luke's father Luke's strong reaction is not so much against the fact that Vader is his father as it is a recognition of the fact that he is imitating and following the same path. Luke sees that he is himself Vader.
