There is, in fact, a potential Girardian Love Triangle in the Star Wars movies that was (thankfully) avoided. While on the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo mocks Luke repeatedly for being not like himself. This could be seen as a type of encouragement to be like Han directed at Luke. Luke sees this, gets mad, and promptly kisses Princess Leia (before he knows about the whole sister thing). Han, like every master in the master-apprentice relationship, sees Luke actually becoming like him, and rather than rejoice the fact that his protege has taken to his teachings, Han of course becomes jealous and even more aggressive towards Luke. Thankfully for the Rebellion, the Rivalry doesnt become too hostile, and Han appropriately imitates Luke's virtue by returning to save the day at the end of Episode Four. Han becomes the 'model' of the model turned peacefully accepting apprentice.
