So er, yes, I have seen Shrek 1, 1.5 and 2.

I felt that as a German, I was missing a lot on Shrek2 since much of it is subtle critique of the American society, a wonderful parody.
Especially the translation did destroy much of the humor.
Did you watch German, English, or both?

I think Shrek2 is one of the movies better seen in the original language. It is hilarious!
