You can then try to kick the ball over the bar between the posts and then you get an extra two points. So for a converted try it is 7points. If the team is awarded a penalty for something like the illegal killing of an opponent, they can take a kick at goal if it is near enough if a penalty goes over the bar and between the posts it is three points. I used to play rugby.
