Even though such articles may aptly display public opinion, I do not think it does justice to the Muslim community.
I remember that merely days after 9/11, active muslims in Germany did write articles, explaining how the acts of Al-quaeda are not representative of their faith, and that they condemn such actions.
But again, those who are "moderate" don't come crying for media attention - they did say what they believed and that was it for them.

Don't come around saying "All I need to know about Europe, I learned from WW2 - the Germans are mass murderers and the most of rest of Europe let them do" because it simply doesn't do justice to the situation at large and much less to the individuals. But that would be essentially the same thing.
Just for the media, moderate muslims aren't interesting. It's the fanatics that are interesting, because they keep the world in fear and terror. Moderate ones and even those who condemn those actions - who are they? You never see them.
