This is a cool board! A place where we can let our hair down and express ourselves and share the joys and trials of being N.I.E. Coordinators. Thank you so much David. You are an inspiration to us all!!

I have been an N.I.E. Coordinator for 10 years (Oh my gosh - I'm getting old) and love it. It is the best job I ever had. I told my husband the other night that I still loved my job and he said "you can't do that - it's unAmerican." Seriously, as a former Biology teacher I love that I can still have an impact on children's lives and don't have to put up with the "crap" that goes with teaching now days.

I get to write (my second love) while doing my job, visit classes and help my teachers. It is just the greatest job ever! (Sorry if I'm gushing). I get a lot of support from my publisher, circulation manager and the editorial staff. Maybe that's because we are a fairly small paper. I have even enlisted them in doing two Murder Mysteries and we are planning a third. 'I have Thespians on my hand.' That's what you get when you put an amateur stage actress in charge of funding raising ideas. Now if I could just figure out a way to incorporate my singing we'd be all set. LOL

Anyway, I am done rambling for now. Thanks David - you are my hero!!

Karin
