Subject: How young is to young??

Coming home from camp late Monday afternoon, I saw this woman leading this nice looking bay mare. There was a good size child riding the horse, on the road.
I stopped and said hi, and asked how old the mare was, the woman replied that she had just turned two this year.
Now this mare looked like at qt cross or stb, and I said, she's rather young to be having someone that size riding her. the woman got alittle testy and I said ok, hope you just don't end up with leg problems, she's sucha nice looking young horse, would hate to see her ruined at her later years.
Now I was very nice and joked with the kid, and all.

I couldn't believe how some people push young horses. Especially with having someone riding it that was that size. I wouldn't have put a person on her for another year, but some people.

What age do you ladies think is the best age for putting riders on???
