In reply to: Teufel 's message, "secret obsessions" on 15:13:55 01/06/05 Thu

A mirthful chuckle, soft in the gloom of the church and almost ... gentle? He leaned a little closer, as though revealing a great secret, or in the manner one might confide to a companion some scandalous deeds, his eyes bright and faintly gleaming with amusement. Whilst the other had momentarily broken the gaze to inspect the stained glass windows surrounding them, colour light artificial and hollow, Jeremiah had instead chosen that time to regard the other with his mind producing thoughts as to the possible routes. Would he, indeed, trust this one? Jeremiah was not a creature of great openness, although like Teufel, was honest in ways that seemed almost cruel or wicked. Be damned the consequences of exposing a revelation, he doubted this one would even care. But everyone was entitled to keeping their pride, weren't they? His reasons for being here, his reasons for seeking the shelter of this building ... they were irrelevant and frivolous. But what he ran from, ah yes, that was tricky. That insistent question, like a test or judge of character, the first impression or the blurb of a book when the front cover had been viciously torn off, was lingering on the other male's mind. Would he produce some superficial explanation? Perhaps, perhaps not. Again, another faint laugh amidst the hushed silence. "The law, no doubt."
