Dear BrocanteHome Friends,

I am very happy to be a member of this new Yahoo Group. I think we are in the midst of something very wonderful, and I'm really excited to have found you all. Alison, I love all your ideas and enjoy your spirit and sparkle in your postings.

I am a half day English teacher in a very small school. I have taught full time for 27 years and this is my third half day. My son is 24, and we live on a farm in Northeast Missouri. My home is filled with little treasures from my grandmothers and from dear friends who know me all too well!! I have several dear collections, and I love the look of primitives, shabby chic, and a little bit of elegant glitz thrown in for sparkle and surprise. I adore cooking and actually even enjoy cleaning and laundry and dishes USUALLY... if I'm not all behind and grumpy. I am one to sit and read or stare at candles, talk on the phone for hours, and write incessantly in one of about six or seven journals. My ideal "look" varies between Rachel Ashwell, Mary Engelbreit, Tracy Porter, and sometimes much more stark and pared down.... depends on the mood I'm in or the amount of clutter in my "interior" vs. my exterior.

I have a lot of dear friends and several "loves" and I have a sober little kitty kat named Sally who accompanies me patiently all over the house and finds the most comfy places to lie down and snooze while I do what I do...

My looks are really basic.. I'm blonde (thanks to L'Oreal, I'm worth it; kind of a Goldie Hawn with a bonus pound or twenty or...sixty!!! haha... I would love to look like Ann-Margret or I also love the look of Juliet Binoche in Chocolat.... but I don't look like those women on the outside.... Luckily for me, most of my friends and loves seem to see the inside, too... Hooray! Va va voom!

That's about it for now...
