Hi!

Thanks so much for the lovely compliment. I do love my kitchen, and that seems to be where my friends always stick. They sit at the table or in that chair and watch me putter and cook.

I have a fair amount of arthritis, although I do okay.. but in my kitchen for the past three years I have had an office chair, set really high.. I swoop about the room on wheels a lot of the time, which allows me to simply dote on the chopping, stirring, mixing, and preparing of the food. I had that brainstorm when I was so much more productive at school charging around my classroom in my roll-around chair.. So I added one at home and one at my shop.... I am able to walk, but the help with simple standing, etc... that is what I really appreciate.

Anyway, that wasn't what I wanted to say... I wanted to extend a virtual invitation to all of you to come for that cup of tea. I personally would love to hear about everyone's kitchens... colors? styles? china? favorite styles? As I said, mine is kind of crisp and dark navy with taupe, gold and punches of red. Full of cabinets and an old cookstove in the corner and a new microwave on the counter... I have a cabinet I refinished with my grandmother... We had to put corners on the doors to hide the places where a mouse had chewed the wood!!! My grandmother was my absolute heart and I miss her every day. My mother is still living and just as dear but just not as 100 percent in my corner... if you understand what I mean! haha.. Translation: spoiled granddaughter!

My favorite china varies with my mood from chintzy old pink and white to a couple of ironstone plates with bluebirds of my grandmother's. I have some heavy Tuscan looking china and a teensy bit of the out of production Noritake Diary of an Edwardian Lady... It is scrumptious and I love it. I also have Mary Englebreit's cherry dishes... I think I love sets of dishes way too much!

Anyway, welcome to my kitchen and come on it for a cup of tea or maybe flavored coffee... My (former) husband complained about my coffee always being "scented and minted" at Christmas... So I bought some basic... That was a waste. Now I have a can of basic coffee that just makes me kind of cranky to look at... oh, well..

Enough. I didn't know I was writing this much..

Take care everyone. I am off this morning due to a school meeting, so yay!!! I am heading off to a local stationery store to find some lovely writing paper/notes and probably some cards...
