Author: W'ntyr -- Garneth, Elatyr.
Subject: I think about you.
In reply to: Elaini (Rishanath) and Wylan 's message, "And all that's left is to accept that it's over..." on 09:21:12 08/06/05 Sat

Daddy…W’ntyr swallowed hard around the lump in his throat which had suddenly appeared when his son spoke. Barely trusting himself to speak, he took Wylan from Elaini, holding both his children and shushing Elatyr when she gurgled a protest at having to share arm space with her brother. It was easy to see which of these two would be the quieter one – she didn’t seem to have made any effort to talk. The bronzerider looked at them both for a minute, then turned his gaze back to Elaini.

Her almost-apologetic tone of voice had attracted his attention when she spoke, but he dismissed it in a remarkably un-W’ntyr-like way. Maybe G’rein’s company was affecting him. He took a deep breath, steeling himself for having to talk after so long. Not that he was like Garneth, who hadn’t spoken, but talking to Elaini seemed to be different from every other kind of conversation, and he wasn’t prepared for it. He just hadn’t imagined a situation in which he would be talking to her.

“Elaini, what’re we going to do?”

((I’m so sorry this is so pathetic, I really am.))
