On my first visit at Milk Maid I thought it would be great to put everything on the sundae, and did. It was awful glop, a mishmash of flavors that was inedible. Things were much better on subsequent visits: good hot fudge sundaes and banana splits with more of the usual toppings. I seem to recall an ice cream parlor in Eastchester: Jahn's? Svenson's? It was in the strip mall with Brooks Brothers and Florsheim.
There's a great old ice cream parlor in St. Louis: Crown Candy Kitchen at the same location on Saint Louis Avenue since 1913. In addition to ice cream sundaes, malts, etc., they make their own chocolate candy.
