Subject: Beauty queen visits former high school

MERCEDES - Natalie Bell of Weslaco decided to visit The Science Academy of South Texas (Sci Tech), her former high school, one last time before she started college this fall. This time, however, the beauty queen brought along a new tiara and sash. The former Miss South Texas was now Miss Texas Galaxy.

Nineteen-year-old Bell was crowned Miss Texas Galaxy 2006 on July 24 in San Antonio. She returned to Sci Tech a few weeks later to share her experience with the faculty and autograph photos. For winning the title, this Valley native received a $10,000 scholarship to attend University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio as well as $40,000 in prizes.

Bell will double major in Business Management and Marketing at UIW. Upon graduating, she will stay in San Antonio and attend law school at St. Mary's University. This young woman plans to become a corporate law attorney. Bell is the daughter of Socorro and Dr. Anthony Bell.
