When is Texas Galaxy going to be held? Still set for July? Isn't the International competition set for July as well? Will new Texas queens be crowned before or after international pageant?

- If they were crowned before nationals you would end up with two sets of Texas Galaxy Queens going to nationals. Texas date was the 3rd week of July but the Nationals will be held on that date so Texas will have to change the date also. I have not heard when it is yet I know the Texas director has been working in the shelters and not confirmed a new date with the venue as far as I know or if she has I don't know what it is yet. -- Re: dates, 12:35:25pm 09/29/05

- As a Mother of a Teen I was pleased with the pageant . I saw my daughter grow and learn from Texas. There are many good pageants out there for our daughters to compete in and you can always find there is good and bad in everything but I must say over all we had a very good time. Texas Galaxy Ladies

Thank you so much for your love and concern for you pageant sisters. I think this has been the Red Cross pageant Camp.

My phone has not stopped ringing wanting to know if this girl or that girl was all right.

I have to say I was not surprised at the level of concern due to the severity of the situation here in Texas. Nor was I surprised at the number of calls from girls wanting to help.

After Katrina Texas was bursting open with more people then we knew what to do with and now with Rita it�s unbelievable. All Wal-Mart, Target, or any food stores are out of everything. Traffic is crazy and Gas is higher then I�ve ever seen it before.

Most of the shelters are full, the shelter I was helping in someone tested positive for TB the problem was once the test results came back we could no longer find that person.

There have been some truly serious problems in the attempt to reach out and help our fellow man. It�s very different when you see it on TV or when you�re in the middle of it.

I think you honestly see the urgency to not only be compassionate and understanding but to value the meaning of life. Things I�ve seen at the shelters have taught me some valuable life lessons.

Every moment you have here on earth is precious don�t waste it.

Jessica Garza - Could not get out due to traffic

Amber Pierce - Amber is safe but (Mom) Allison didn't get out she the only one left on her street she is taking care of all the animals in the neighborhood

Jennifer Clary - Jennifer is stuck in one of the hardest hit areas with her two little daughters

Natalie Bell - is safe in San Antonio, but her Mom and Grandmother are stuck in a bad area could not get out due to traffic and her Father is working at the hospital in Houston

Natalie Jenkins - no news

Jennifer Wisemore - no news

Amber Lanning - safe with family they were able to get out in time

Lisa Schmidt � safe in the hill country with her daughter husband is not out of Corpus yet

Cheray Josiah � Cheray said she was far enough away she thinks she will be safe

Up Date -- Terri, 4:57:20pm 09/25/05 [1]
Hi everyone! I'm writing you on a battery and "dial up connection"... Well... we lost our electricity (as predicted), but outside of that we are very fortunate that the storm moved more to the East, which meant that we have a lot of wind (even now), but it's kinda neat. I have to tell you ... the cloud colors last night were really something! The clouds were green and blue ... strange ... and they moved quickly in a circular pattern... It was something I had never seen before and I have been through 2 other Hurricanes and several Tornadoes (living in Kansas City). Currently, the wind is blowing like I remember how the wind could sometimes blow on the beach when I lived in Southern California. The rain has been rather uneventful here and once we get gasoline and electricity things can return to normal.

Frankly ... the most trauma came from the evacuation ... not so much the actual storm ... at least here. Now we just have to get through the next few days of rain and overspilled bayous... My mom's house also doesn't have electricity and although the White Oak Bayou is rising, we are hopeful that the storm's turn will mean that the rain predicted for the next several days will also stay away from the bayou... :::crossing fingers:::

The bad news is that the Trinity River is expected to crust on Monday so many of the communities there is expected to have "extensive flooding" in Polk, Liberty, Moss Bluff and San Jacinto... (not near me or my family members though).

I feel kinda selfish ... being GLAD that the storm went somewhere else... At least, wherever it went, it reduced from the Cat 4 to the Cat 3! I am sure that saved homes, buildings and families.

My kids are excited ... with all the evacuations the schools/universities aren't returning until Wednesday. That's good though, because families are more likely to listen to our Local and State officials who are saying STAY PUT for now ... the roads are really packed right now and officials wanted us to keep them clear so the military convoys can relocate to where they are needed without traffic congestion, electrical trucks, gas companies, public works vehicles, and the police and emergency vehicles can also move about as needed to put the city quickly back together.

Right click on the picture you want to post and choose from the menu window "properties." When the box comes up copy the text written beside the words "URL." Next, to post the picture in a Voy post, write The only space should be between 'NT) -- if this doesn't work i'll try again, 10:45:32pm 09/21/05

also, be sure to take off the "" once you place the URL. oh and the picture has to be online alread, if not upload it to photobucket.com to snapfish.com and you'll be able to get the URL (NT) -- hope this helps you out. can't wait to see more pics, 10:48:34pm 09/21/05
